Hydro Lord - The Game : Instructions
- Place the board in the centre of the playing area. Each player selects a coloured playing piece which is placed on the gold bars in the centre of the board.
- Shuffle the Mates / Post Cards separately and place on the squares marked Mates / Post on the board.
- Select an honest, reliable player to be in charge of the Public Funds. S/he gives each player including h/self $10,000 starting money.
- Players roll the dice for highest score. Highest score then rolls the dice first then moves the piece the number of spaces indicated in a clockwise direction from the start space.
- Each player then has a turn in a clockwise direction.
The following rules are important:
- If a player lands on a red space, that player must move back 4 spaces; if s/he lands on a green space, that player must move forward 2 spaces.
- If a player lands on a Mates space that player must pick up a Mates Card (yellow) before collecting any monies and comply with the instructions on that card.
- If a player lands on a Post space that player must pick up a Post Card (green) before collecting any monies and comply with the instructions on that card.
- Collect $2000 in Government Payments each time you land on or pass Start. If you do not remember to ask before the next players turn, it is history. Ask to collect this payment even if you are complying with Mates/Post or other means to go to Start.
Jail
- If you are told to go to jail, go directly to jail. Do not pass Start, do not collect any monies.
- To get out of jail- you need to pay $500 to the Public Funds before your turn to throw the dice; otherwise miss a turn.
- You cannot receive a set-up payment whilst in jail.
- When just out of jail and before you roll the dice you can collect from your set-up in that month, providing you have a set-up; otherwise you lose that set-up because of your inattention to your business affairs
